Since 1920, America's Oldest Ski Shop

This past summer, Nick Martini and Stept Productions went back to their roots to capture the story of 93-year old Joe Lahout and America’s Oldest Ski Shop. The crew spent a few days exploring the White Mountains with Joe, learning about the area, shop, and life spent in the outdoors. From steel to wood, leather to Raichle, Joe has been there for it all. This film was exclusively hosted by Teton Gravity Research on November 2nd as well as picked up by The Boston Globe, Outside MagazineFreeskier MagazineSKI Magazine, and Huckberry Journal, among other media outlets. To learn more about the project check out our InstagramFacebook and Twitter channels or view the archive and film photography albums.

Established in 1920, Lahout's is a 4th-generation family run business. We started pedaling goods from a horse and wagon with local general store. We strive to prepare your family for all the elements of New England and our values embody those of core skiers, hikers, and outdoorsman. We are deeply rooted in our tradition and community, always looking forward to the next sibling, parent or distant cousin you bring through our doors.

See you on the hill, at the trail head, or somewhere out in the woods.
